Answer Library
Keep the approved answers that fill your next security questionnaires correct and current.
The Answer Library holds every answer your team has approved in a security questionnaire. When a new questionnaire asks the same question, devguard fills in the library answer. So the library must stay correct: a wrong answer here goes into every future questionnaire that asks that question.
Scripts and integrations: see API on the questionnaires page.

Add answers to the library
You do not add answers here directly. An answer comes into the library in two ways:
- You approve an answer in a questionnaire. See Review and approve the answers.
- You import a questionnaire you have already answered, with This questionnaire is already answered turned on. See Fill the library from an old questionnaire.
Each wording of a question is in the library once (case, punctuation and numbering do not count). If you approve a new answer to the same question, it replaces the old one. A similar question with other wording gets its own entry.
Find an answer
- Open Questionnaires and choose Answer Library.
- Type part of the question into Search question.
- The list shows the most reused answers first. To narrow it, choose Filter and then Reused, Last reused or Updated at.
Correct an answer
- In the row, open the menu (...) and choose Edit.
- Change the Answer. You can also change the Question, for example to make it more general.
- Choose Save.
The new text fills the next questionnaires. Questionnaires that already used the old answer keep it.
If you change the wording of the question, devguard saves it as a new entry. The new entry starts at Reused 0. devguard archives the old entry. If the new wording is already in the library, that entry gets your answer instead.
Retire an answer
When an answer is out of date, archive it. An archived answer no longer fills questionnaires.
- In the row, open the menu (...) and choose Archive. To archive several answers, select their rows and choose Archive in the bar above the list.
- To see archived answers, choose Archived in the toolbar. To bring one back, choose Restore in its menu.
You cannot delete a library answer. If you approve the same question again in a questionnaire, the archived answer comes back with the new text.

How is this guide?
Security Questionnaires
Answer the security questionnaires your customers send you, check every answer before it leaves, and reuse each approved answer in the next questionnaire.
Incidents
Record a security or privacy incident, track the response, see who you must notify and by when, and close it with a written review.
