Roadmap

The Roadmap lays your open tasks out on a timeline across every adopted framework, so you can see what needs to happen by when to stay audit ready — and plan the work toward a target date.

Overview

The Roadmap turns your Tasks into a plan. Instead of a flat list, it plots every task with a deadline on a horizontal timeline, grouped by framework, so you can see the shape of the work ahead: what is due this month, what is coming, and what is already overdue.

It answers a single question at a glance — what needs to happen by when to stay audit ready? — across all of your adopted frameworks at once.

The Timeline

Each adopted framework is a row on the left rail. Along the timeline, that framework's tasks appear at their deadlines, batched by week so a large program reads as a series of weekly work batches rather than hundreds of individual points.

Each framework row shows:

  • Progress — how many of its tasks are done versus the total
  • Task batches — plotted at their due dates, with overdue work clearly marked
  • A target marker — the audit ready by date, if you have planned one (see below)

Hovering a batch reveals the individual tasks and their statuses, and each links straight to its task detail. The canvas scrolls sideways for long-running programs, keeping a consistent density instead of squeezing everything into the viewport.

Plan a Roadmap

You rarely want to set a deadline on every task by hand. The Plan a roadmap action does it for you: pick a single audit ready by target date, and the scheduler spreads all of that framework's open tasks into weekly batches leading up to it.

  • The schedule starts about a week out and snaps each deadline to the Friday of its week, so the plan reads as steady weekly progress.
  • The target date must be at least two weeks away, to leave a workable window.
  • Re-planning replaces the deadlines on open tasks with a fresh spread toward the new target. Tasks that are already Done, and any tasks you created manually, are never touched.

You can plan a roadmap right after adopting a framework (from the prompt that appears) or later from the framework's roadmap tab. Planning updates the timeline immediately.

Relationship to Tasks and Deadlines

The Roadmap is a view over your tasks — it does not hold its own data. Change a task's deadline, status, or owner and the timeline reflects it at once. Where the Deadlines view aggregates due dates from schedules, reviews, and treatment actions into one chronological list, the Roadmap focuses specifically on task work per framework and lets you shape it toward a goal.

Best Practices

  • Plan toward a real target. When you adopt a framework, set an audit ready by date and let the scheduler lay out the work rather than dating tasks individually.
  • Watch the overdue markers. They are the clearest early signal that a framework is slipping; rebalance by re-planning or reassigning owners.
  • Review it in planning meetings. The per-framework progress and upcoming batches make the Roadmap a natural agenda for weekly or monthly compliance syncs.
  • Keep tasks honest. Because the Roadmap mirrors your tasks, accurate statuses and realistic deadlines are what make it trustworthy.
